I like to broaden the meaning when I read. House and meaning not only the one of bricks and planks, but also the 'mental home'. Father meaning not only the physical father, but also 'rationality'. Mother meaning not only the physical mother, but also intuition. Travelling can be outside as well as inside. Just like dreams talk in symbolism.
And so on, and so forth.

THE ANNUAL ASCENDANT IN THE NATAL TWELFTH HOUSE

The Twelfth House about the unseen, unknown, aspects of yourself and your life. It is what is hidden in the ocean of the unconscious. It represents where we are alone in the world, some say it's the weakest part of the chart, or where we feel most vulnerable. This is a house with the Latin name carcer, meaning "prison".
