Reference systems of all kinds can be useful tools, used with the right knowledge (of the tool, and of oneself). Used consistently, neutrally and consciously. Right tool at the right time and place.
The multi-meter is quite useless for someone who doesn't know anything about volts, amperes and ohms. But it doesn't make the multi-meter useless.
You maybe don't have to know about volts, amperes and ohms if you don't use electricity. But that you don't use electricity doesn't make electricity useless.
Neither does electricity stop existing, or working, because you don't use it or believe in it.
With a multi-meter you have to know what to measure, how, when, and why.
Electricity has the power to kill.
So has the unconscious.

All cards presented on this page are random. Flipped from the top of the deck, shuffled as an ordinary deck. Hence, not "chosen" or any particular "favourites" of mine. That's how I do it. I haven't even looked through most of my decks. I've seen, at most, 1/4 of the total of amount cards (124*78+). I basically buy the decks, with a sense of purpose, put them on the shelf, and let the decks and their cards show them self when suitable.
Neither have I studied Tarot, or drilled any general "card meanings" into my head. I just intuitively pick up a feeling and meanings by reading the books and companions coming with the decks, and - foremost - "learning" by using them.
Though, the decks shown on the page are consciously chosen, and placed. Often I go "random" in my drawings when it comes to the deck too. Just drawing a number (hence deck) and just watching what presents itself in the moment. Which turns out either directly relateable, or something that requires me to rethink what is most important at the moment. Something I deem myself - as a dumb small human - incapable of think out myself alone, as the thoughts often get overtaken by the ego, and what that considers super important.
Either way, this process gives me at least some more points of views, and involves more of myself - sort of boosting up intuition, sensation, creativity and feeling a bit. Decreasing the huge space intellect/rational thinking wants to take up in me.
(My record clearly shows that some decks and/or cards appear more often than others. It is not a "statistical" outcome. Something else than "mere chance" has played along in the game.)
Involving the unconscious/subconscious/unknown (a fraction of the 96%). Arousing more than one reality, knowing my limited human thinking capacity isn't even near to knowing the truth by itself alone. Knowing my egos capacity to grumble with all it's mundane desires, shadowing the actual needs of the situation. Knowing my feelings and fears make me shrink in front of certain truths. Knowing my rational thinking always stays ready with the sledgehammer, crushing everything irrational that pops up.
Stirring up, shaking energy to motion, and creating a flow. Stagnation is death. Things become stiffer before they die. Soft and bendable are two typical characteristics of living things.

Stirring up - finding balance - stirring up - finding balance. A never-ending spiral. Challenging my mind. Becoming more and more aware. Becoming more and more awake. Scratching the surface of those 96%.
No special rituals attached to my card drawing.
I don't walk three rounds around the house, or turn to any particular cardinal direction when I am about to talk with or listen to a human either. Just mustering an open, neutral, friendly, respectful attitude. Receiving, accepting, transforming.
Since late 2015, when I befriended Tarot, I have recorded most cards drawn.
Collecting data. Like a scientist in his (hers) lab.
