The Tower, New Orleans Voodoo Tarot
"emotional upheaval revealing core issues or aspects of the self"
Uncomfortable, but it only gets worse if we resist it ,:)
"To resist the Waters is to cling to dust"
For whatever reason our emotions have been heavily stirred. And it's maybe not so much about the event (the 'dust') that stirred them (or the stories that the mind wants to create around everything) as it is about the emotions itself.
For whatever reason this (albeit unwanted and rather painful) 'cleansing' is needed.
The 'reason' will probably dawn upon us eventually, but for now: 'surrender to the waters' without identifying with it.
We are not our emotions.
"The waters come to wash, refresh"
Let go of all the 'beliefs' around the emotions.
Let rising thoughts "fall and be carried back to their source".
It's the deck of Sacrifice, and the card of Sacrifice - unavoidable and often misunderstood such.
Not one that we've chosen ourself.
One that we don't even understand (yet).
'Resistance is futile'
