Practice childlike innocence and curiosity and question the truths (rules) that we've lived by since we were kids.

The only way to truly make change is to change the way we think, live and do, and hope it - or let it - 'rub off' on people we encounter on the journey!
And yes, change requires breaking some rules - ones put on us from the outside, and ones we've unconsciously have made for ourselves based on survival patterns and (limited) thinking.

Hence, some of the 'appropriate action' we have to take will upset people around us. The "rule followers", the rational ones, the anxious ones, the ones afraid to step out of the comfort zone - they might react in fear towards our "erratic/rebellious " or plain "selfish behavior" (in their eyes, from their limited logical survival perspective).
It's good to remember that anyone "acting out" are not acting AGAINST US. It's not personal. It's 'reactional'. We are 'endangering their safety', according to their nervous system, when we don't "follow the rules" - either their rules or the rules of society (tradition).
No reason to (re)act back. If we can, the best thing to do is to send a thought of compassion.
