The Hermit + Judgment, Light Grey + Chalice
A fear of leaving our safe cocoon 'in new clothes' in fear of being judged by those who matter most to us.
Many love (or like) us for who we used to be, or who they would like us to be - few love us for who we ARE, NOW.
Often a reflection of OUR trouble to love ourselves for who we truly are, or as now - who we're upgrading into. After some kind of 'penetrating event' followed by a withdrawal and a total surrender to released emotions and deep contemplation upon them.
It's a little bit like putting on totally new clothes - more revealing ones or ones clearly 'departing' from what others (and we) have ever seen us in. Maybe it feels like it's not even a choice, we HAVE to change - because WE have changed so dramatically.
It's scary to go out with these new clothes in public. Or rather, to 'show them (ourselves)' to people close to us. People who "know us". People who are not only used to seeing us look a certain kind of way but also find it uncomfortable when we don't - consciously or unconsciously. Because, 'they don't longer recognize us' - and people in general don't like change!
It's not about us it's about them, and them not wanting their world to change - or anything in it to change!
And of course - it's mirroring our own insecurity, our fear of not being 'the good girl', fear of 'not fitting in' and fear of not being approved.
And also, the fear of showing our 'Upgraded True Self' to people we just care so damn much about and 'don't want to loose'
Not 'being approved for our new clothes' is often about our people not approving of changes in their world and a disinterest in actually getting to know people (in this case us) - and, changing their opinions in general! And a general fear in people to engage with people embodying characteristics and behaviors outside what's 'normal' for them - no matter how open and embracing they seem to be!
To sum it up: it's likely NOT personal - more than the fact that if it's triggering something IN US there's something within we need to look (even) closer at :)
