The Empress + Five of Wands, Riderless Tarot

Even 'strugglesome' days are a natural part of the journey, and life itself! 

Oh, a double Riderless!
(I use a randomizer picking out decks to use, and I have 200+, so not that likely!)

Horses represents instinct for me. A touch of alertness and reaction - they are flight animals after all.
Today we might have to 'act on impulse'. Or 'acting for survival' in some sense, 'doing what needs to be done'. 
Use our muscle memory, and not so much our more developed faculties.
Which in some sense can mean a break from 'deep work stuff', though not in the restful kind of way we may have wished!

Some days can (even physically) feel a little more like a struggle than others. Days when we have to act on instinct and take care of things we might feel done and over with. Days when we have to buckle up and act, do or be in a way that no longer feel in alignment with what we know is true or right for us. Hence we may also feel a little like were 'betraying' ourselves, again! Or at least, not being as gentle with ourselves that we've come to know that we need - and have come to like - to be.

Just because it's no longer 'in alignment with who we've become' it's still in alignment with our journey - read that again!

This is how it can be 'having a little one' - that is, beginning a new chapter in our lives. 
There are old commitments we can't just drop like hot potatoes. 

But even in this we can ad gentleness, and 'continue our practice'.
We can take more pauses than we used to. Pauses were we not just 'stop for water', but were we really check in with ourselves and our bodies, and 'pat our backs a little'. 'Hey lovely, how are you doing? Thank you!'
Pauses when we breathe deeply into our bodies.

All new beginnings and births include some pain, 'difficulties' and chaos (change).
