Fear of ties or commitment?

Oh, the fear of "getting hurt".
The fear of rejection.
The fear of discomfort and pain.
The fear of strong emotions.

When in truth, pain one of our greatest teachers.
Why else would such a thing like BDSM exist...?

Pain and hurt comes to us one way or another, no way to avoid it!
The more we try to avoid it, resist it, and insist it shouldn't be there, the more it haunts us, the more it hurts us. And maybe even MORE things 'happen', as the universe urges us to TRULY befriend 'the dark side of life'.
TRULY embrace it, and not tiptoe around, treat it as a 'sickness (or problem)' or merely talk about it and around it in a detached or sarcastic way.
Truly embrace it as something HEALTY, and beautiful.

Not lead our lives in such a way that we try to avoid it or find people and things to blame it on.

Yep, desire and temptation is dangerous. It's a GREAT risk it will "end in pain".
It's not for the faint of heart. We better 'come well prepared'

Is it truly LIVING if we never take risks, or fear to commit fully?

Now comes the question - are we ready to commit to what we really want (the only way to actually get it)?
Be fully open and vulnerable even if it is really scary, even if there's a risk it might end in hurt and pain.
Not withdrawing our commitment or love in fear we might get hurt or not 'get the results we want'.

Committing 99% is the same things as committing 0%.
Committing 99% is reluctance.

"It's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all" - as many who have lost can attest to.

Avoiding committing fully ('ties') is NOT a way to avoid pain, or loss.
Loss is pretty much the only thing that is certain in life - hence, quite a peculiar choice to live a life trying to avoid it :)

The only true rejection here is rejecting ourselves - which we do when we not commit fully to our own needs and desires.
It's NOT the other rejecting us.
