The Devil + King of Pent's, Ethereal Visions + Native American
A time to contemplate and ask ourselves what's holding us back.
What constrains us is an illusion.
"the binding is of your own"
Ethereal Visions ("not of this world") 2 days in a row.
First the cards showing fire separating us from someone, or from what we want, and YD cards telling us 'you won't move forward unless you regain emotional balance'.
And these cards neatly follow the same theme.
Remember one of the last things I wrote YD?
That there might be a fear to pause our 'pursuit' because we're afraid of 'what might come up'.
That, if we go out in the woods and 'sit under a tree' (like the man in the 2nd card) and truly listen our inner guidance, it might tell us something we don't want to hear? Or don't know what to do with?
Again, there's just no way past it. We HAVE to sit down a bit, or continue our contemplation around this.
In some way, shape or form, WE are keeping us separated from what we want!
WE are holding ourselves back.
What are we afraid might happen, or NOT happen?
I register how the couple on the devil card doesn't have the 'classical chained look'. The woman seems to be sound asleep, and the man sits with his head in his hand in an 'away look' from the woman.
Is he asking himself "what did I just do, again?" (addiction)
Did their "meeting" evoke something in him he didn't expect - now what? (loosing control)
From the look of it, the 'feminine side is quite pleased' and the 'masculine side' is bothered somehow!
How can we use this information, what does it mean to us?
The cards are crystal clear. If we are to 'move forward' there's a dire need to contemplate and do some deep listening. Not to get answers, but to get to know our fears. What are we afraid to let go of or leave behind? What in our current life style do no longer serve us, but we are afraid to leave it or even see it?
Or, in what sense have we become too comfortable (sleeping) and afraid of change?
Along the lines of "addiction, obsession, control, materialism"
"Willow tree - symbol of the cyclical renewal that is painful but necessary"
