Trapped in - self imposed - limitations!

Whatever is 'bothering' us, it might do us well to take a long close scrutinizing look at how we CHOOSE to perceive it.
Why are we choosing to be bothered?
Why are we insisting on that things, our situation, or worse - other(s) - 'should be different'?
Why are we insisting that something is wrong, because we 'feel hindered' or hampered?
Who are we to say that we know best how things, or god forbid - other(s) - should be, or even develop?!
Who made us queen/king of the world?!
We - with our limited one-person perspective. How can we possible know what's best for the situation in the long run - and for all involved, and all they relate to, and their children, and their children, and ... in infinitum!

Are we maybe (question inspired by Carolyn Elliott) getting off on being bothered?!

Is there something within us doing this - delighting in our weakness? Delighting in us being rejected or otherwise "treated badly"? Something to contemplate if we have a pattern of experiencing the same thing over and over - whether it be that people reject us, distance themselves from us, forget us, look down on us, neglect us, or any other 'pet peeve'.

It's not for the faint of heart to embark on this kind of expedition and self-examination, but it seems as if our guides are hinting us to 'look behind this door'.
