Knight of Pent's + Eight of Swords, Ellis decK + Mystical Cats
It's a challenge and we're (well) prepared for it - AND it will require that we're on top of our game and don't get caught in out head.
"the knight traveled to visit a once-great fruit tree"
Once there he found that the tree "had been overpicked and underfed".
"It produced no more fruit"
He "set himself to the long task of healing the tree"
Will the tree be healed? Will we be amongst the ones enjoying the fruits?
Neither is the point.
"He has a deep understanding of obligation and duty"
The tree has been placed on our path, and we must try and heal the tree, for the sake of the tree.
Not for glory, not conditionally for the fruit.
Such a task can feel very challenging for the head.
Why US?!
And the awful 'What's in it for me?!'
The parts within us that asks these questions feel trapped, like the cat under the gnarly branch. Why did this happen to me?!
But the more the cat fights the branch (the task and the thoughts) the more it risks hurting itself.
"If only he could be calm and look for an opening"
"You are being tested, whether by others or by the universe in general. show your ability to improvise and find innovative solutions."
"Consider it an initiatory experience"
And if the "tree" so chooses, maybe we will also help heal someone during the initiation :)
