King of Swords, Javanne Tarot
"make use of your sharp sense of discrimination" (not the same thing as judgment :))
Being able to cut through eventual surface noise. Such as people reacting or behaving erratically.
Being able to 'see the whole picture', and not get stuck in details - such as specific words or acts, because they are most probably having their source in trauma and hurt and not the soul. It's just not their true self acting or speaking now, yet, or fully.
It's perfectly normal to have these 'dips' a little while into the relationship.
"But we had such a connection and flow, were did that go?!"
No. It's not a "setback". It's just old defenses kicking into gear, something that naturally happens when two people come to know each other a little more. It's those frightened parts of ourselves that says we're beginning to know each other TOO MUCH. Those parts that suddenly feel the need to hide stuff - and their selves. And especially those parts in us who are terrified of 'loosing their freedom' (generally especially strong in men). Kicking in the second thing passes the sweet intro-phase.
Their true Self (which we were allowed to see and feel glimpses of before the 'shutdown') lies below all the noise, and will be unveiled and released again in due time - IF we not 'make a fuzz' of things but "adjust" and let old patterns play out themselves and 'die away'. They will die away if we are safe - over time. That will make the use of any shields and armors unnecessary (which they haven't been before).
This is of course nothing we can FAKE. We have to feel it, be it and truly believe it.
Be in strong connection with that 'universally loving part' in ourselves, below all OUR old patterns who wants to counteract, confront or 'slay' patterns in the other.
And we have to honestly and truly #respect the other and their direction and choices in life, and not just 'adjust momentarily' and secretly want to change them to 'suit our needs' later.
