Eight of Cups + Strength, Unicorn + Alcohol
Remember our friend C8, which we saw TWICE 3 days ago?
I had the hunch it was about one situation, two perspectives/experiences.
Now we're revisiting this card, and meet an interpretation that fits 'both sides'.
Saying that both experiences are founded in a similar fear.
Both the experience of fighting an inner resistance to moving on from something 'outdated' because of the 'familiarity' of it, and the pain of watching someone go through that experience and process (ex: the pain of 'hoping they will make it').
I read,
"Fear of becoming too close"
It's 'safer' to stay in familiar drama, and routinely close down/withdraw. We may even be presented with an opportunity for a 'higher (aka closer/more open) form of relating', and resist it because it 'feels wrong' - that is, unfamiliar, which the defense system interprets as dangerous.
And, witnessing someone's struggle may certainly make us choose to walk away from a situation or relationship - because we cannot stand neither their pain or our own, so we're rather walking away from our feelings than the situation. More comfortable to 'watch from a distance'
"learn to trust again"
In the drama relationship there's little trust - as 99% trust equals 0% trust. You just can't ALMOST trust someone, or trust them sometimes. It's scary to learn to trust again.
And, watching another go through something with unconditional love requires that we TRUST that the person inherently knows best what THEY need to do.
'insecurities hindering firm commitment'
A close trusting relationship requires full commitment.
Again, 99% commitment equals 0% commitment.
ANY person can feel that 1% lacking.
TRUST that we're on the right path with this 'commitment to an open heart' thing!
We're not 'drunk' or imagining the things happening.
