Eight of Cups + Eight of Cups, Insight + Mary-el
Another double!
Two C8s. Very different though. Almost as if the cards show two persons' experience of the same thing?
Just such a strong 'hunch' I have - which I've had many of lately.
The first card is centered around the traditional theme of 'leaving something behind'. Something well passed it's due date for us. A parting requiring a good amount of will power. And we're not quiiiite there yet - reversed. The resistance is still in the grip of us. Whatever 'it' is, it's SO much comfort associated with it (this person, habit, substance). The 'problem' is that it gives us little or no expansion, and THAT pain grows on us - which annoys us GREATLY. We don't want it to be so.
We have to move on/let go. We KNOW it. But we keep pushing it forward.
In the 2nd card it's the Herculean story. Yes, it can require a Herculean effort to move away from the known, into something yet unknown. Yes, it mentions "overcoming obstacles", but with more focus on a need to
"keep your heart open and be true to your self and overcome the fear that would normally cause you to shut down and guard your heart".
"Wear truth and love like an impenetrable and radiant shield"
It quotes the prayer of St. Francis of Assisi - "Lord, make me an instrument of your peace".
Yes, 'being true to ourselves' is central when it comes to 'moving on', but that's not quite the way the 2nd card talks about it.
I somehow sense '2 scenarios/views'.
One person struggling with accepting that something is 'dead and over'. Facing this uncomfortably clear INSIGHT and knowing, and overcoming their own resistance to let it go/move on.
And another person observing the first person's battle, which triggers a struggle in themselves - they are now faced with reactions and emotions triggered from watching the other's battle. It's quite painful to watch someone you love go through something very challenging, and very challenging to LET them - to not meddle, try to fix, speed up the process, or in other ways "help get rid of the (OUR OWN) pain". It's VERY tempting to shut down. MUCH harder to 'keep you heart open' - and allow ALL the pain. And continue sending/being love.
